COVID-19 VACCINE HESITANCY IN MALAYSIA: CHALLENGES WITHIN THE LAW AND WAY FORWARD

For hundreds of years, vaccines have been a critical tool in the prevention viral diseases. Vaccination programmes gained prominence as one primary strategies for combating COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, vaccination frequently viewed negatively by many. This is evident fact that vaccine hesitancy continues to grow at an unprecedented rate which much facilitated rapid growth communication and information technology. vaccinations are considered medical products, difficulties they present socio-legal nature. The study examines four major factors contribute Malaysia namely compulsory adverse event following (AEFI), disclosure, misleading religious beliefs sentiments, misinformation disinformation. It should be noted that, identification discussion mentioned above vital failure any future campaigns resulting from would pose huge threat achieve United Nations' Sustainable Goals (UNSDG), especially respect good health sustainable economic growth. Therefore, purpose this research, paper adopts qualitative research approach its objectives. recommends Malaysian legal framework strengthened.
